The article analyzes the problem of forming patriotism and citizenship during period students ’ education in higher educational institutions. Educational work is considered as an integral part activity a institution. goals objectives legal civil patriotic education, its role formation fullfledged citizen patriot their country are formulated. reveals successful experience individual institutions organizing mass events civil-patriotic orientation among students, well difficulties problems conducting them. Special attention paid to Kazan National Research Technological University.
